Lk 8:19-21
19[Jesus’] mother and his brothers came to him but were unable to join him because of the crowd. 20He was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside and they wish to see you.” 21He said to them in reply, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it.”
Reflection:
My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it. A young man asked his teacher, “When can I call myself a man? When I am grown up with a job?”
“No,” his teacher replied, “you are a real man when you see every stranger you meet as your own mother and brother and sister.”
So have we become real men or women, or have we remained little children who depend on their parents?
Smile at all the strangers you meet today.
