Jn 14:1-6
[Jesus said to his disciples,] 1“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. 2In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be. 4Where [I] am going you know the way.” 5Thomas said to him, “Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” 6Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
DO NOT LET YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED. One of the blessings I enjoy as a priest is wherever I go around the country, I feel welcomed by brother priests in a convent or parish and a room is made available for me.
This is also true with Jesus. He is our friend and brother, and we will always find a welcome room from him. This room is not only in heaven. There is a welcome time of the day when we find him listening. Jesus protects and watches over us in our daily undertakings. He is a shoulder to lean on. We will always find a forgiving hand whenever we reach out after a fall. No need to let our hearts be troubled. All that is needed is faith that is not about believing in a set of dogmas or teachings but about believing that in Jesus we are never alone even when we face the unknown.
