The World’s Hatred

Jn 15:18-21
[Jesus said to his disciples,] 18“If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. 19If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you. 20Remember the word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. 21And they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me.”

IF THE WORLD HATES YOU, REALIZE THAT IT HATED ME FIRST. We are never totally alone, even though at times we seek solitude and isolation. We are interrelated or interconnected. Even Jesus is never alone. He has the Father. He is in the Father. We are in Jesus and Jesus is in the Father. The Father loves Jesus, and Jesus loves us. We are all tied together.
In the same way, whatever we do has an impact and effect on others. Whatever happens to us Jesus also feels; he knows and cares. 
To be connected with Jesus is to be connected in prayer. And to connect with others is to be conscious of them, to care for them. We do not own the planet. We inherit it from our parents. And we borrow it from our children…
